European Commission’s Audio-visual Service
ALICE PRODUCTION has been covering and broadcasting the daily activities of the EU institutions and operating the Audio-Visual Service of the European Commission every single day since September 2009 as member of the two-partner consortium ‘Yügen’ with EMG Belgium, under a framework contract of the European Commission.
Yügen operates the Audio-visual service of the European Commission and the Europe-by-Satellite platform and its channels EbS and EbS+ on a 24/7 basis, 365 days per year. More than 40 staff work in the Berlaymont, the headquarters of the European Commission, in coordination with and under the supervision of DG COMM A4. They operate the Commission’s television and radio studios, provide audio-visual and photo coverage, edit and transmit EU news features for the media and the general public.
We entertain close relations and daily professional collaboration with all audio-visual media correspondents in Brussels and with broadcasters across the world, for which we are a very valuable source of information, edited content, as well as an operational support for video and audio coverage and news reports, interviews, TV and radio shows, etc.
Yügen also produces and delivers video content addressed to the general public, such as video clips, thematic reports, and other content for EC’s internet portal and social media platforms.
In addition, we supply and ensure the maintenance of all audio-visual technologies related to TV, radio and multimedia, IT hardware and software, so as to meet the highest technological standards and to incorporate innovative formats and tools to boost the visibility of the European Commission and the European Union.

Voice of Accountability, Malawi
As part of a consortium led by PROMAN, ALICE PRODUCTION contributes to the TV, multimedia and training activities of this project under a contract with the Delegation of the European Union in Malawi, in collaboration with the country’s Ministry of Finance.
The EUD benefits from a dedicated Alice Production Support Team experienced in the production of video, radio, and digital information content, as well as in training multimedia technical staff and advising on the streaming of events on digital platforms.
In particular, we delivered a weekly 30-minutes long TV magazine, “Kulondoloza”, aired on the the three main TV stations of Malawi on issues related to public finance management. We also trained local, national and investigative journalists on reporting about PFM issues, and trained “young mobile journalists” from the 28 districts of the nation. And overall we provided crosscutting support in TV, radio and digital content production (storytelling).
ALICE contributed to put the audio-visual & multimedia production structure of the project in place and to train the local Production Team members in Lilongwe, to ensure a fruitful skills transfer, overseeing the integrated production of video, radio and digital content, its overall coherence and the working methods and routines of journalists and technical staff (video editors, sound engineers, producers).
